Turtles are known to be good navigators because no matter how far out to sea they swim, they always find their way back to the beach upon which they hatched. Scientists discovered they do this by using the Earth’s magnetism.

Green Sea Turtles have been protected in the US since 1978, so the ones you see in Hawai’i have lost their fear of people. This is not true around other South Pacific islands. Swimming with honu will not cure the problems of the world, but it goes a long way toward lifting our spirits and giving us hope for a better future.
