This particular egret is accustomed to being around people. It practically posed for me while wandering through the vegetation behind the Art Kiosk at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was clearly looking for lunch. While they will eat fish, I often see them hunting lizards and bugs. Small “flocks” of egrets can be seen following large lawn mowers, picking up any bugs remaining among the clippings.
