Into the Sunlight

Into the Sunlight

from $45.00

The flowers portrayed in this piece are Obake Anthurium. “Obake” means ghost in Japanese. This variety of Anthurium was so named because its flowing shape is reminiscent of the traditional shape of a ghost. Believed to have been introduced in Hawai‘i in 1889, these long-lasting, heart-shaped plants have become a mainstay of the Hawaiian cut-flower industry.

Nature is the Master — I try to emulate her through observation & imitation.

This painting reflects the intention to be more visible in the world. Whether it’s the world of family and friends, or the broader world in general, stand in the sunlight of your being and shine brightly. This is how we become the light we need to see and feel in the world.
