The Green Sea Turtles, a protected species, are gentle and giant. They grow to enormous proportions, eating algae and sea grasses. They’re a quiet reminder that strength and grace can coexist in one body.

Perhaps you have been lucky enough to see one of these gentle giants basking on our beaches. This is a behavior unique to the turtles in Hawai‘i, earning them the nickname Hawaiian Basking Turtles. Take a moment now to bask in their light as you gaze upon this honu.
