This painting began with lines drawn to create shapes flowing across the paper. The colors of the ocean were added and allowed to dry before I began to “find” the painting’s subject. In this way, the painting speaks to the idea of “going with the flow,” and following your energy.

This painting works both horizontally and vertically. Turn it in all directions to find something new. Some of us struggle to “swim upstream” while others easily swim down. Perhaps it’s a matter of perspective. Regardless, it still seems a little fishy.
